I've been writing for as long as I can remember. It was actually my dad who told me I can write as he always sees me writing letters (snail mail back then) to my childhood friend overseas. Writing took a back seat as I took up an Engineering degree because after all, who would earn from writing alone? I then worked for several FMCG multinational companies for 15 years handling roles in Sales, Marketing and ultimately, Trade Marketing which in many ways translates the sales and marketing language of the company to its customers.
Writing found its way back when I moved to New Zealand. I honed my skills through a course on fiction and non-fiction writing and culminating to a Graduate Diploma in Information Design - which is essentially making every document user friendly to its target audience through the words, the colours, and other elements that help communicate the message.
I have used this skill ever since which has helped our other brand, Identity Headshots, gain sales by people visiting the website. That was when I realised that I had something to offer to people.
I belong to a family of artists. Ever since I was a kid, I was into art. Then I went to university and took up Civil Engineering and didn't delve into art for more than a decade. I picked up a camera in 2006 and the artist in me have awakened. It came back with a vengeance that I started taking photos everyday for a span of five years and have photographed more than 800 people in New Zealand for our other brand Identity Headshots. Nowadays, I enjoy taking photos of ordinary people, making them the best version of their everyday self.
